Tipps & Tricks

Convert your PDF files fast and easily with mz3Tool
The Windows version already supports Drag&Drop and a Graphical User Interface.

You either can select a PDF file in the Explorer Window that opens, when clicking the symbol on the right of the PDF input line.
Or you Drag&Drop a PDF file from any open Explorer Window into the PDF input field.
In most cases a single click on “CREATE” creates a perfectly working Mz3 Title, without any need to change the automatically set parameters.

[wp_lightbox_mp4_video link=”https://www.megazine3.de/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Show.mp4″ width=”960″ height=”480″ source=”https://www.megazine3.de/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/show.png”]

With “SHOW” the actual created Mz3 Title can be viewed. There are two options availabe:

  • Embedded ViewerIf you did not install mz3Viewer as offered the first time you click “SHOW”, the viewer being part of mz3Tool will be used
  • Separate viewerIf you installed mz3Viewer and it is linked with mz3 files (the dafault setting), a separate Windwo with mz3Viewer will be opened and you can view the mz3Title in parallel to mz3Tool

mz3Viewer remebers that last viewed title showing a list a thumbnails. Such thumbnail is saved, when an Mz3 Title is closed.

All files and folders of an Mz3 Title needed for distribution can be collected with a single click.

An Online folder is used to upload everything to a server for use over the Internet in a Browser.

The Offline folder can be zipped and then distributed via any media like CD/DVD or memory tick gespeichert. Or sent by email or uploaded to the “Cloud”  (e.g. Dropbox).

Configuration of MegaZine3

MegaZine3 can be configured in several ways: comfortably with mz3Tools's check boxes and radio buttons, with a few lines of XML "code" or even with own plugins (programs in ActionScript3).

[wp_lightbox_mp4_video link=”https://www.megazine3.de/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/configure.mp4″ width=”960″ height=”480″ source=”https://www.megazine3.de/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/config.png”]

mz3Tool provides easy access to the most important parameters via a collection of check and radio buttons.
All settings are checked for plausibility and corrected of needed, providing hints. Modified parameters are color coded to find changes quickly.

All parameters are saved individually per book (Mz3 Title).

Multimedia elements, link areas and text blocks can be added to selected pages.
Per page an XML file with code snippets defining those elements can be added.

Those code snipptes are provided for video, audio and sound alements as well as for area links, used e.g. for a table of contents (ToC).

[wp_lightbox_mp4_video link=”https://www.megazine3.de/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/xml-asul.mp4″ width=”960″ height=”480″ source=”https://www.megazine3.de/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/asul.png”]

All parameters are saved in XML files used by mz3Tool or MegaZine3, and can be modified manually or by a script/program.
Even complete Mz3 Titles could be defined this way.

Special XML layout files (“ASUL” files ) define the look & feel of Mz3 Titles.

And if a special feature is needed, you can write your own plugin and add it seemlessly to MegaZine3. The program interface (API) is defined in detail in the API documentation
